Blog Post #5
This course has taught me a lot in regards to designing a research study. For one, I was pretty much oblivious to the different types of research methods in their basic forms. I just thought research was research. After writing a research proposal myself, I have a much clearer idea not only how to write one, but why. That principle is similar to the goal of writing a proposal in the first place, explaining how and why.
The processes we went over in class have really opened my eyes to the different potential roles and responsibilities of a technical writer. There is a lot of tediousness, the details really matter. I feel like I would not have as much of a hard time writing a proposal if I had full control over the subject matter. While research proposals and literature reviews might not be my thing, I see the merit in regards to understanding the how research is ultimately done on a professional level.
That being said, this is my final blog of the course. Thanks for reading and good luck the rest of the semester!
Hey Adam!
ReplyDeleteI also didn't know anything about the composition of a research project let alone how to begin one. It's great that you can finally see the opportunities and possibilities being a tech writer has to offer. It gives you a whole new perspective and respect for the authors who do this all the time.
